Rook's Contribution (AFTERPARTY v2)

This is a page explaining my contribution to AFTERPARTY v2. This page, and the page for my collaborator, exists so that by putting all pages in a bundle, we can receive equally split payment for our work (itch does not currently support any other form of profit sharing). The game document itself is on the AFTERPARTY v2 page, and can be downloaded there after purchasing the bundle. 

So what did I bring to the table? 

In 2021, I was the Artist in Residence for WAVE Productions at Northwestern University. With collaborators (including game designer J.R. Hecimovich), I created AFTERPARTY: An Evening of Playful Bereavement. That project was designed as an interactive, remote performance piece, experienced via Zoom. 

The challenge we tasked ourselves with this year -- adapting the original AFTERPARTY for a PDF release on itch -- ended up improving the games. J.R. and I worked together to revise the games to work in an in-person, GM-less setting. After the games felt streamlined enough, I worked on laying out each one with its corresponding illustration by Lizzie Bonsal. All other illustrations in the PDF are mine.
